Hello I’m Fred Mays. A blogger, journalist, photographer, and adventurer.

I am a career television journalist, a Peabody Award winner, and a former Florida writer for Travel Awaits. I have also written on Florida adventure travel for The Tampa Bay Times, Miami Herald, Orlando Sentinel, and many online publications. I’ve been writing about and taking pictures of the natural Florida for nearly 40 years.
Over the years I have been a member of various bike clubs and paddle groups, and explored Florida by kayak, bike, and camping (in a tent) from Pensacola to Key West, and the Everglades.
